Awakening to God

Awakenings…history…the great awakening…fueled by prayer.

The difference between an awakening and a revival:

Revival is described as a visitation of God’s Spirit on God’s people. An awakening is a time of such intense visitation that both the Christian and non- Christian communities are affected..while revivals alter the lives of individuals Awakenings alter the world view of a whole people or culture.

Jonathan Edwards coined the term “awakening” in a famous letter he published in 1736 when he began to notice his actually listening to his sermons and following his advice. They began to live godly lives even the young people. And this behavior began to spread.

I learned that in all these awakenings the one common factor was prayer.

Bro. Hagin spoke of these things in a prophecy during a prayer seminar in 1983. He said there would be a GREAT MOVE of the Spirit that took place before Jesus would return. He spoke by the Holy Ghost, “Moving into that place is fueled by prayer Fired by the Spirit. And ignited with His glory. If there is no fuel, there is nothing to ignite. (I never thought of that. It came from the inside of me.) You have to stop and analyze that. If there is no fuel, there’s nothing to fire. Fueled by prayer.”

The Lord is leading us to provide the fuel thru united prayer. Romans 13:11 Knowing…it is high time to awake out of sleep. For now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed.”
